Most of us agree that as we age, we seem to have less toys. Even some people anticipate having children of their own so that they can have some toys to play with again. For adults, toys usually pertain to cool items such as high-quality cars, motorcycles, jet planes or even yachts. Some people may not regard themselves as materialistic, but there are those who measure their worth and success by the number of toys they have in their ownership. One very good example of a toy suitable for adults is a model boat.

At first glance, model boats seem like a really cool toy, but these boats are actually made to be displayed only. While some models can actually float in the water, they are meant solely as decorations and as trophies for those who have built them from scrap.
The efforts that go into building a model boat are definitely painstaking and building one, it goes straight inside a bottle and then placed on a shelf for display. It certainly brings a model boat builder great joy whenever he sees the boats he had built from scrap and displayed together.
As some might not know, model boat building nowadays has been regarded as a popular hobby. In fact, it is the subject of many websites and forums on the Internet. Most people even take up model boat building as a group activity because it is more fun to do with others.
There are many toys out there nowadays designed for both children and adults. Model boats could still be played by children, but of course, keep in mind that model boats that are built painstakingly are meant to be displayed only. You can, however, still let your child play with a model boat you’ve built, only if that certain model boat is easy to build and cheaper than the intricate ones.
