There is no business like show business. This is a phrase that we often hear about the movie,
TV, and music industry. Noah Strausser Speer Wyle, also known as Noah Wyle, is an actor by
profession. He was born in Hollywood, California and is one of six children and is the son of an
electrical engineer and an orthopedic nurse. He started his acting career during high school by
participating in theater arts program at Northwestern University with which he got hooked and
started acting after high school rather than attending college.

Noah Wyle got his first part at the age of 17 in 1990 with the mini-series “Blind Faith.” After a
few good roles he managed to hit dry spell for two years. In 1992, he got a role in the movie “A
Few Good Men” and was followed by another dry spell. Television shows were possible for
Noah but he however steered clear of them because of the 5-year contract commitment. In 1994
came the script for the television drama series “ER” and the part of Dr. John Carter seemed to be
good with which he bagged three auditions later. The often earnest but fumbling Dr. Carter is
the role is best known for.

Along with his TV and film career, Noah was also making some theater moves. In 1995, among
others he had appeared in, he played a stage production in Los Angeles on “The 24th Day with
Peter Berg.” He also played for the Blank Theatre Company with “The Who,” and more recently
with “Lobster Alice,” along with Nicholas Brendon where he played as the surrealist painter,
Salvador Dali.
